Official Baggo Rules & Scoring

HOW TO PLAY

  • 2 or 4 players (singles or doubles)
  • Distance measured between Foot Foul Edges
    • Age Distance
    2 - 4 Years 8 Feet
    5 - 8 Years 12 Feet
    9 - 12 Years 15 Feet
    13 & Over (Social Play) 18 Feet
    Tournament Play 20 Feet
    • In doubles, team partners face each other from opposite boards
    • Each team plays with 4 bags
    • Opponents alternate tosses until all 8 bags are thrown
    • The round is then scored (See Scoring)
    • The last team to score on previous round tosses first
    • Toss again if any interference occurs
    • Opponents may call Foot Foul and the call must be honored
    • In singles or doubles, the losing team has choice of sides for next game

    BAGGO etiquette necessitates respect for your opponent. While an opponent is tossing, refrain from talking and step back out of his/her view. Only one person or the referee (tournament play) should retrieve bags when the round is completed.

    OFFICIAL BAGGO SCORING

  • Winner is first team to score 21 points or more
  • 3 points for each bag in the hole (That’s a BAGGO!)
  • 1 point for each bag on the board is an Ace
  • Score is the difference in the team totals
    For example:
    After 1 round of 8 bags played,
    #1 team with 1 bag in the hole = 3 points
    #2 team with 2 bags on the board = 2 points
    Score for the 1st round for #1 team = 1 point
  • Bags pushed in by an opponent’s toss count as a BAGGO
  • The game is over if the score reaches 11 to Zero (SKUNK)
  • If a bag ever touches the ground or is tossed out of turn, it doesn’t count

    Follow these steps to easily calculate the score:

    1. Take away or remove “offsetting or canceling” bags from the board. The net “board” bag or bags are positioned at the bottom of the board.
    2. Retrieve the BAGGO, or hole bags, and discard offsetting/canceling bags to the side. The “net” BAGGO, or 3 point bag or bags, are positioned over the hole.
    3. The team net round score is calculated by subtracting or adding the points from the board bags and the hole bags.

    STORAGE

    • Place bags in pockets on inside of boards
    • Wind distance regulator cord around front leg of a board
    • Latch boards together by lining up pilot pins
    • Store game indoors
      • Prolonged exposure to heat/sunlight may cause board to bow or the insert to discolor
      • Wall mount to prevent bean bag damage by rodents
    • To use Wall Mountable Bracket:
      • Use a 1 1/4" screw to fasten bracket to wall
      • Mount bracket so arched side is on top
      • The lip in the BAGGO hole slides over the mounting bracket

    CLEANING

    • Boards: clean with warm, wet cloth and mild household cleaner
    • Bags: wash in cold water – hand wash or delicate cycle, air dry or on “no heat” cycle. DO NOT put in microwave.
    • Screens: remove screen from board, spray mild glass cleaner directly on paper towel and gently wipe. DO NOT spray cleaner directly on screen. DO NOT use water.

      • Outer Material: Heavy-duty Poplin blend, 65% polyester/35% cotton; all-purpose, extra-strength thread surged on three sides and then reversed out.
      • Filling: Treated unpopped popcorn, a digestible particulate
